English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

FCPS offers daytime and evening adult ESOL classes in Frederick County for out-of-school individuals who are at least 16 years old.  We help learners improve the communication skills of listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading, writing, and grammar to promote self-sufficiency and full participation in U.S. society.

If  English is not your native language, you are at least 16 years old,  and you are not enrolled in high school, you are welcome to join one of our ESOL classes.   Most classes are free, but you must first attend a 3 hour ESOL orientation.  Orientation dates, times, and locations are published on cable channel 18.   Information is also available by contacting Adult Education at 240-236-8450 or by clicking this Contact and Request Info Link.

You can only get started by making that first step!
